is it necessary to wash and press new tablecloths before an event?

having Thanksgiving at our farm, received a slight decline in colorful cloths at target. says hubby wash and press, I said already in a hurry! What is your opinion?


Yes, they are pressed, and the theory is that they are clean, too. However, I prefer to have mine free of any residues are on them and without wrinkles, even the folds, especially if I have people coming over. They are also nice drape. The same with curtains. Even if I do not wash the curtains, they always hang nicer without the folds of packaging.

Sometimes items such as tissue sheets that come in plastic packages tend to retain a bit of a strange smell. Wash eliminates the smell and replaces it with a fresh scent that's more enjoyable for the guests, then a plastic odor.
