A recent trip to the store to a dollar short so something interesting for me, Christmas comes early this year.
Retail sales this summer have been disastrous for most, and it seems that even the dollar store to local attempts to offset any loss of sales starting with the Christmas sales early. Just behind the school supplies cleaned display near the front of the store was particularly lights of Christmas decorations, garlands, and ornaments.
This year, it seems that Halloween is already over and Thanksgiving is not really either. I do not like Thanksgiving, but I'm going to miss Halloween. One of the fun parts about seeing the decorations at the dollar store was that there was no Halloween decorations out yet. When I asked, they did not get the truck yet.
This is not the only shop in local dollars trying to capitalize on Christmas early this year.Other retailers have begun to receive their Christmas gifts and winter merchandise and put it on the sales floor, hoping that conscious consumers will start breeding before the rush hits in November ... almost three months from now.
I am a big fan of Christmas shopping is done as quickly as possible to beat any rush that I might have to fight with the season approaches, but I'm really not looking to buy Christmas decorations or gifts in August or September.
