Thanksgiving ideas?

Nov 21, 2007 by nysfynest | Posted in Thanksgiving

This is my thanksgiving first with my new husband! and I am excited to start our own tradtions and food from ours. Ideas?

Find a "signature" dish and make it every year without fail. That way, when you have children they will not be able to think of Thanksgiving without remembering. Just before my family dinner goes around a diary and wrote what they are thankful for this year. Sign your name and date, and when you look back on it, you'll be able to see how your family has changed over the years.

Nov 17, 2007 by cute_blondie_angel | Posted in Thanksgiving

Its just going to be my husband, son, and i for Thanksgiving this year. Both of our familys live out of state and we are not going to be able to travel this year to meet them.

Any ideas on how to go about celbrating Thanksgiving with just the 3 of us?

We would still like to have a Thanksgiving dinner, but need smaller dinner ideas.

Something you could do is invite friends over if they don't have too much to do. Otherwise, to make your meals smaller you could get a small turkey breast in place of the whole turkey and just make very small amounts of things such as potatoes, corn, pies, etc. Or maybe your family could come visit you. Three people does sound a bit un-festive like. If no one can come to your home and you can't travel to your family, prehaps you could celebrate at a friends' house or spend your time cooking alot of food then taking it to local "soup kitchens" or around to elderly who can't get about. This could be something the three of you could share in and is very fun as well as rewarding.

Hope this helps and I wish you lots of good luck and I hope you have a very happy Thankgiving.

Libby Langdon's Thanksgiving Decór Ideas on the Rachael Ray Show

Libby is demonstrating how to create Bobbing Apple Voti

The days of promising good governance but delivering graft, corruption, and self serving sinecures are over.

If in the future generations who pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to inaugurate the birth of the world that the nation truly free, Progeny Liberty gradually ceded their birthright to the government has designed and developed for serve a free people, and not his servant, this generation is awakening to the terrible mistake that we and our ancestors recurrence.Responsible for the terrible knowledge that comes with open eyes, we now have long abdicated to awaken our fellow citizens and actively seize power and freedoms have been gradually talked, cajoled, threatened, extorted, and extorted from us not only by those who apparently served us, but by their supporters and facilitators who, by accident or design, has seen fit to steal and contempt for freedom as they could be retained and, where possible learned, may be sentenced until a corrosive contempt for these freedoms, wrapped in velvet gloves, and could stifle the flow of them that this nation, conceived in liberty and welfare of wise and benevolent creator, may in fact disappear from the Earth, plunging the heirs of a heritage of great and noble in the dark waters of chaos, despair, and evil around them, a dank flood that even today, other people actively seek out the source of inspiration to embrace this blessed and free country. We awake and conscious, freely accept the charge that the architects of this republic has sent more than two centuries ago, in the hope that all those who participated in the benefits made possible by the nation they created would be dark undertake duties citizens, and thus to form properly in virtue, and educate themselves in the functioning of the precepts and ideals enshrined in its founding documents that they have enough wisdom to recognize that all threats our freedom come from outside our ranks, the knowledge to recognize that not all chains and threatening shackle us immediately appear to be what it really is, and humilitynot to assume that the ingenuity and innovation has been the hallmark of the American success was the product of man alone. The Constitution does not now, nor has it ever guaranteed the right to be free to be offended. The first success in causing the disruption of free speech by insisting on the use of words or terms stripped of their meaning or altered by a redefinition and deliberate use of ephemism to avoid offending the sensibilities more difficult to drive its use to avoid deliberately delay or prevent the free exchange and communication of ideas because we have allowed ourselves to be more afraid of offending someone or mark with a label chosen to suggest that 'There was a problem with the speaker in question, rather than the intended recipient. Words have meaning and names have power. But over the truth, when given the opportunity to exist without being hindered by artificial constraints that those who fear it would place on it. The founding fathers did, so they promoted the "marketplace of ideas" approach. And we now have to ratify and affirm this concept, having borne witness to the decision infringed and do damage that results when we keep silent and allow others to avoid any real discussion of issues, events and ideas for fear that it might offend someone. For too long we have stood by silently and allowed some of increasingly balkanized country with sob stories of how one thing or another makes them a victim, and therefore they deserve some special deference a particular preference, and recognition that they are special. We looked for too long, with growing concern as hyphenated Americans have failed to take it upon themselves to overcome their victim status, while constantly expecting to be rewarded as they brandished their victimization as a club, ready to bludgeon anyone who dared question their rights and their appetites almost eager to expand. One of the many blessings that this unique country has to offer is the presence of a second chance and the third and fourth. Others know this, and rather than thinking that good things available to those who work for them, were something they were simply the right under their sob story, real or imaginary, they decided to man up and overcome. This does not happen by accepting help and decide to demand ever more. We are a generous people, but there are limits. Decide on your own to experience the satisfaction of making your own destiny rather than living on the work of others. You might be surprised at what you do, or how it could come to the benefit of your fellow citizens in ways that you can not even imagine. The latest affront to the "American exceptionalism" that our current President feels the need to apologize to the Foreign Capitols is the recent concept of a "compelling interest in diversity in our government, our institutions and our culture" .It is the bastard child of political correctness and victim, which would not have been possible without the misunderstanding of the concept of equality as enshrined in our law, the correct interpretation is that citizens this country have equal opportunity and equal in stature in the eyes of the laws that govern us.Once the "right" took offense and started business with victimization, people enjoying the use of both decided that equality actually means that everyone had the right to be surrounded from all walks of life by people who looked like them, if they were qualified to fill these roles or not. Americans rose to prominence in the world largely due to the idea of merit and the pursuit of excellence. This has been incorporated into our government and institutions as well as in the private sector.Civil Service examinations for public sector jobs ensured not only that people could do the job required of them, but that the most qualified were hired to do the job. Now the staff of the norm in many fire departments, police departments, government agencies and the university is not excellence, but the skin color, gender or sexual preference. The identity eclipsed capacity and we are all poorer. Prepare to change. For too long we have tacitly allowed others to use the appeal of emotion to demand our assent to their active people who have violated our laws to come here to live and work among us, without asking permission do, or to obey our laws do. We allowed others to placate us by allowing these people to use our resources and taking benefits for citizens, but they are required to become citizens or residence. We've been silent too long as others advocate ceaselessly for the protections that are conferred on us as our birthright to those who are not citizens and had tried to kill citizens, or who have expressed a deep desire to do so. No sane person despises therefore something of value which falls under the "accident of birth" that they simply would it give to others who want and still show contempt for those who have by stealing them.Likewise, no sane person dishonored if a gift bought with the blood of others that they will give to those who just want to kill or enslave them. No longer will we remain silent that others confer all the benefits and protections of citizenship to those who disrespect, or steal these benefits and protections without assuming the responsibility to pay for them, or worse, kill us because we have. The institution of Thanksgiving, the architecture of our public buildings and monuments, Judeo open discussion of government, until the acknowledgment on our currency, this country is very deep and undeniable Christian roots, and has been governed by leaders shamelessly declared their personal beliefs function during their mandate. It has influenced our laws and has been the cornerstone of every ideal that has allowed this nation to grow and prosper. This heritage has been the target of a campaign for many decades Shove God out of the public and the exile of Congress with our representatives elected by people who refused the idea of a higher authority, because their own beliefs and desires are contrary to those expressed by the higher authority. Assaulting our national heritage with such dubious legal notions such as a separation of church and state that forbids any mention of God or expression of religion on or in state-owned property, and dismantling existing law with the fallacious statement “You can’t legislate morality” does violence to our history and demonstrates weak logic and understanding of what law is. The Founding Fathers’ intent with the Establishment Clause was the prevention of any one church gaining the favor and sanction of the Federal Government.A ban on the words ANY religion or belief in God has never been their intent, and proof of what surrounds us is still to this day. The current state of the law is based on a false premise, which can be easily defeated by a simple walk around the monuments and buildings in the District of Columbia, and taking your wallet to pay for an ice cream cone. As for "You can not legislate morality" Duck, it is also true. The law is in essence the simplest expression of morality codified. The question that arises is one whose moral must be expressed in the law? Those who can not point to any particular belief system that has some valuable properties to its base, or those who can? We all felt. The accusations that we are poor Christians, because we refuse to give the government not being able to have been conferred by the Constitution and go along with the bill being considered health reform. The accusations that we hate the Earth and our children because we oppose the largest tax increase ever single, combined with the deleterious effect on American jobs that would result in the passage of Cap and Tax Bill, which owes its existence to the myth of man-made global warming and the fact that it feeds the federal government's two favorite dishes: money and power. The accusations that we are evil, greedy, selfish people do not support the idea that government and social assistance benefits are means to improve the lives of Americans who are struggling, whatever the reason.Accusations of "racism" whenever we raise a provocative question or a critical level on an individual policy, or idea that could happen to involve one or more persons who are not white. Charges as "racist" and "racism" is not objective, quantitative support, and only justification of subjective emotion will be ignored. The race card is maxed, and the bank is more willing to extend the credit line.As for attacking our faith or our practice of it, we will not be held accountable by the people who do not understand the faith they would be used as a weapon against believers, when the owner is subscribed to any system belief at all. Those who rely only on themselves to regulate their conduct and ethics no longer have to condemn those who meet a higher authority. No more. We claim control of the shame that you chose not to, and we can no longer allow you to use to make us respond to you.For too long we have done nothing and has elevated the debate and action on all issues, assuming that a destructive and dangerous idea: The federal government is the only way to meet a need, fix a problem, or prevent a problem. Over time, he became a security blanket, and we became a nation of thumbsuckers, willing to give the federal government more power and more money, if only we take away the life and life of it as free people, until we no longer have turned to it for protection against others who have our freedoms and destroy them, they turned to it for protection against the consequences of our actions. We were so frozen in asking for federal help with every aspect of our lives, nobody within or without the federal government never exercised restraint and said "No. The Constitution does not give the federal government power to do that. "And now that people are aware that the federal government is poised at the dawn of the greatest power grab it ever did with Bill healh care, some of us finally say" No ° You have no authority. "The stakes have never been more evident.Meeting with the anger of voters who actually pay attention, politicians have used various means to intimidate those citizens who expressed their disgust and anger that a government that serves them not feel so entitled to our money and our data in the passage of something so clearly opposed to those who Wold to live under his regime, these officials have used to insult their constituents, calling them conniving in the pay of their political opponents, calling them stupid to say that they simply do not understand the words printed on the pages of the bill, lie shamelessly to them outright what they have proposed and we are considering, and meeting the public at public meetings with Rent -a-mobs of the SEIU, acorn, and others, so they will face a public that is sympathetic to hostile voters opposed this latest demonstration of the government to get out of his leash.Sinecures The days of good governance promising, but the benefit of graft, corruption and selfish is over. We do not care about your party, both were able to be irresponsible and dishonest. We demand that you act responsibly, that you do business of the people, not yours, and we ask you to act within the Constitution. Nor do we accept just a law that strictly exceed the powers enumerated in the Constitution.Nor do we accept interpretations of the commerce clause and the necessary and proper clause, which are so tormented and stretched beyond reason or recognition as to be unrecognizable to those who read the Constitution. No longer will we accept a law on the bench is based not on constitutional interpretation but divination mystical mysterious shadows that only some 'right thinking' lawyers can see. Those times are gone and you can return usurped powers for states and citizens to whom the Constitution imposes rightly or you can be stripped from you....
