UPS refuses to give me a local UPS phone# to double check and they say they can't check to it gets to a center !? Can anybody help me with this-I'd hate to be sitting here all day for a package that won't be delivered today

They do but they dont guarantee delivery times due to the difficulty of getting to pick up and delivery areas.

Yes, UPS will deliver anything possible Mardi Gras day. There are certain areas that can not be delivered to because of parade routes but otherwise drivers will do whatever they can.
Call 1-800-PICK-UPS to speak with a customer service rep.
