May 15, 2009 by pinkbubblegum | Posted in Fashion & Accessories

Thus, for our 8th grade promotion, we will have a semi-formal dance is the theme of Mardi Gras. I did not know this until recently and I've already bought a dress for a promotion. is light turquoise with gold belt and sparkling things on it. is strapless and I'm not sure we're allowed to wear it. I do not know if I should just wear that dress cuz it was expensive and I do not have much money right now. Also, what kind of accessories should I wear?

Want to warm but brighten a dark galley kitchen (has french quarter/Mardi Gras/New Orleans) tile on floor...?

Aug 20, 2007 by Deana | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling

Our home is about 2500 sq feet and we love it. It is roomy, has neutral colors throughout (light oak floors and Benjamin Moore wheeling neutral/carrington beige/richmond gray in adjoining areas to kitchen) and soft fern on the kitchen walls. Cabinets are maple stained and with the darker floor makes the kitchen look small and dark. Help! We want to replace the counters, keep the fern green paint color and possibly do a backsplash. Our style is cottage comfort with mostly greens and whites and small amt pinks/burgundy throughout our home. Was thinking about an atrium white on the cabinets with oil rubbed bronze knobs and a quartz or granite taupe contertop. What do you think? What about the backsplash? Thanks for your help...

White cabinets sound lovely and very cottage/garden/botanical. You might also consider a blond wood for your cabinets. This would impart a rustic, earthy sensibility. The blond wood would blend with the fern green and the flooring, too. If you decide on the blond wood you might consider a more auburn tone for your countertops. Not dark, but warm and coppery.

I positively love Benjamin Moore paint! I have Georgetown Pink Beige in my kitchen/breakfast/family room area and the master bedtroom. I'm working toward painting the entire house in that color. LOVE IT! It reminds me of liquid make-up in a paint can.

General Electric Mardi Gras Movie Light

Football, Religion and The Fray

I guess it's because I've never had a person in my life that made me excited to be in football. Hell, the college I attended did not even have a football team. They do now, but not from 1996 to 2000 when I attended and graduated. No boyfriend of mine was an old football player did not they force me to watch games with them. (Thankfully!) My husband does not follow any sports team either. No, her butt is usually planted firmly in the computer chair, playing Mafia Wars and other geek game.

I feel ya, Mandy. The most terrifying thing in the world to me is not knowing what, after that, but then I worry that if I pidk something and it's "evil" that is worse than not have nothing. I came to a point in my life where I just think there is more than one way to get to "heaven". I know that hard core Christians will disagree and say that only through Jesus, but I do believe in a deity who would trick people. When we talk about something as important as eternal life, it should be a little more exposed and evidence.I like to tell my daughter that she will get a new toy if she does something ... but not say what the something is ... even after she did. How fair is that? But I too am moved by Christian music. Kendall Payne "I'll show you love" that brings me to tears every time. I just try to live my life as the best person I can and be nice and help my neighbor. As for the question that The Fray this, every time I hear "Where was God?"I think the song" Everything Falls Apart "by Dog's Eye View" the party said: "I met God this afternoon riding on a train Uptown / I said do not you better to do? / He said if I did my job what would you complain? "

God thank you, there are others out there who feel the same as me! Great post Mandy....
