who can find me sites for how to create time period headdresses and hats, and mardi gras masks?

Aug 04, 2008 by cerealkillerchicky | Posted in Other - Arts & Humanities

I want to know exactly how to create such things as tai dancers headdress, a 30 or 40 years hat style, Mardi Gras masks with feathers preference but also other styles. How do women in vegas headgear dancers and how on earth did they stay on their heads?

This is just one link from

http://www.gather.com/

but the following sounds encouraging:

"A group of reenactors from all periods of time Informaion hand, resources and experiences."

The group is

http://histreenactment.gather.com/

and several groups are returned in search terms such as arts, crafts, costumes, hats, and combinations of these terms.

The group's main page is at

http://www.gather.com/groups.Action

May, but you have to scroll the page to see the search field for specific groups. The top right is probably the box to search the entire site.

You're probably already familiar with

Mardi gras?

Jan 01, 2008 by Amber T | Posted in New Orleans

This is a list of what I am thinking of selling...What do you think? What should I charge? Do you have anything to add? I can't sell beer sorry guys.

Boas
Wigs
Top Hats
Fuzzy Hats
Jester Hats
Tote Bags
Glow Sticks
(gloves, umbrellas --> if it rains)

I am looking for a few good items that I can make the most money with. any ideas will be helpful. I am going to be working mardi gras by myself and I don't have a car so really big items won't work for me.

Thank you for all of your help!!
I am trying to find things i can sell, that will be easy with a big return. I don't have enough space to keep the soft drinks or cotton candy and I think I would only make 1 dollar per sale net. It is not realistic for me.

boas are way over done in the gift shops
i would sell tote bags and glow sticks
you would do good selling titty beads they are beads with plastic womens breasts on them some even light up.
Those would be a good sell because everyone wants one and they are extremely hard to catch. you caould even charge double or triple the price you would pay for them and people would still sell well
