What are appropriate Kwanzaa gifts?

Dec 25, 2006 by devil's advocate | Posted in Other - Cultures & Groups

My black neighbor came and gave me a Christmas present. It was a basket filled with goodies for Christmas! I thought I would show him how I was tolerant of different cultures, so the next day I went by his place and gave him a gift. When he answered his door, I said Happy Kwanzaa! and gave him a watermelon. It does not seem very happy. Watermelon is a suitable Kwanzaa gift. I want to be tolerant of different cultures?

yes good gift because historically all black PPL celebrate Kwanzaa, and those who celebrate Kwanzaa have always loved the great man of watermelon from Zimbabwe. if ur tryin to be funny, u shouldn't really do it here, its hard to tell. and if u arent go fcuk ur mom.

Chanukah's Kwanzaa Gift 2008 pt2

Chanukah & Kwanzaa come together

Ignorance is not bliss

Someone please help me understand why Michelle Obama shorts are worthy of interest? So help me understand how alliveate self-hatred so many of my people.

Last night was crazy. I went to rehearsal Vixen (Yes Exoticise has a dance troupe), and I turned on the radio (I'll be on "The Kendall Moore Show" this Saturday to promote the Diva Dance Retreat & My Goddess!). This is a black talk radio station here in Chicago in 1690 WVON AM I was not really aware of what I thought it was better to learn about listening before going on the show.

As I tune in, they speak shorts Michelle Obama and how she was setting a bad example for black women and the country because she was wearing shorts on Air Force One. I know nothing about this controversy, but based on what I know Mrs. Obama I only knew that it was madness. To me, Michelle Obama did a great job of being elegant and sophisticated without being too uptight. Then they move to a discussion of how a black woman, she should be more conservative in her dress because of our history. I decided to tell you something.I really have a problem with removing women's self expression. I also wanted to share that I found Michelle Obama to be a wonderful role model for young women.

As I am on hold waiting to get through, dude goes on in a conversation about how this is to hold black people back is not society but the cultural things like giving our children "names Ethnic and not achieving in school. He goes on this rant about how when he was in school, they bus in from these "black children" (mind you Dude is black) and they were teased about carrying books home and being "white." Then he said that his daughter is dealing with the same thing at his private school. His comments were along the lines of "these children into a prestigious private school and I met children like her daughter, but too white has nothing to do with their success in school (later). Then he continues to ask his guest, the elderly woman if she is concerned about what will happen to his neighborhood when they begin the construction of "affordable" housing. He asks her if she'll be upset when adolescents begin to come and steal the downtown and hanging on the corner of their pants hanging....
