Halloween treats?

Sep 21, 2006 by Why? | Posted in Other - Holidays

I am curious and would like some feedback on an idea I have of Halloween candy this year. I want to make some dough and give it in small containers clearly deception or Treaters. I'm the kind of person who would still love to be able to give the candied apples and such, but for obvious reasons will not. I tried to put my mind at the parents today, and I think all the reasons they may not want their children to play with the clay house .... but can not achieve anything.Do you think this is a good idea, and it is something that grandmother is absent of fear out there about Halloween treats? thank you in advance!
Note: I live in a very small town and big city stigma is not there, but I just moved here several years ago and am not well known.

Hmmm - you're a perfect candidate to give the dough to home child neighbor until you said that you are not well known. No parent is going to take anything home-made for their children to someone they do not know - it's almost a fact these days, even in small towns. So Sorry - because I want to be the kind who could distribute popcorn balls & stuff too!
My suggestion - Decorate your garden the night before Halloween and make an effort to get to know your neighbors with children. Do not forget to invite them to stop by for treats & goodies on Halloween night, let them know that you are at home.On Halloween night, put in a lot of Jack O'Lantern and sit in a lawn chair to reach your candy. Keep containers of dough aside - can tell parents what it is, explain that you made and what kind of ingredients is not it - then ask each parent if you can give their child's modeling clay. This will be the consideration for their children and should allay any fears they may have to accept something homemade. But make an effort to get to know your neighbors - you live in a small town now, there's no excuse not !!!!! Have fun and enjoy the season!

What would be some good Halloween treats that I could make for my annual Halloween Party?

Oct 18, 2006 by SusanS, Incognito | Posted in Other - Food & Drink

I would appreciate some ideas for home made treats that I could make for my grandchildren ages 3 to 9. It is tradition, for me, the grandmother to have a Halloween party every year. I am running out of ideas. I would sincerely appreciate any input. Thanks.

Hairy Buffalo!!!!!!!!!

J/K.... make some rice crispy treats in a pumpkin shape, or pumpkin shape cookies. Get little hugs drinks.... don't know why, but when we were little we loved those things. Also, get pizza.... cant go wrong with pizza for kids! good luck
