How can I string halloween lights on my front porch?

Oct 20, 2007 by Kate | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling

I need to know how to get a plug out there. I do not want to throw out the window because it's getting cold where I live. I do not have a space under my front door big enough for an extension done. I was wondering, is there such a thing as an adapter that screws into a socket and you can plug a cable into this? This way I can take the bulb on the porch lights and plug in.

Any hardware / home improvement place will have one and it probably costs less than $ 1.00. The only problem plugging into something like that, is that the cord is usually the way and it gets disconnected easily

Here's what it looks like:

How do I convert blinking string lights?

Oct 17, 2007 by zomBot | Posted in Other - Electronics

I have some halloween string lights that say they're convertable from flashing to not, but the box doesn't say how. I plugged them in this year and now they flash. They haven't done that before.
Anyone know how I can get them to just stay on and not blink?

If there is no control box near the plug, try unplugging them and plugging them back in. Sometimes this will cycle through different types of operations.
