"Be careful to obey all the commandments that I give you today. So you can live ... 2 Remember how the Lord your God led you through the desert these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and whether or not you would obey his orders. 3 Yes, he humbled you by letting you hungry and feed you with manna .... He has done for you that people do not live by bread alone, but rather, we live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. 4 For all these forty years your clothes did not wear out and your feet do not swell or blister.5 Think about it: as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good having swelling in a visit 40 years in the desert. But Moses states that the nation had no such problems with their feet for the WHOLE Tour !!!!!!!! Moses mentions that mean exactly to Israel that hunger could not be an oversight on the part of God. Because God took care of something that was apparently just an afterthought for them. It seems they had not noticed their shoes or their feet until after the need had been met. Why the hunger? For discipline and character test!Do you realize how much food means to you? Without it when you're at a Christmas party or sitting in your favorite restaurant. Then you'll know. Although we might choose to fast, if we are honest with ourselves we often times choose the easiest, foods or situations for our fasting. Although it is spiritually beneficial to do outside of regular meals to build your spiritual self, the sacrifice helps us most when done with legal grounds.
Moses told Israel that God chose hunger as their test to expose their character.God wanted them to consider the states Moses and Jesus said to the mountain of temptation, that "God does not fail on the supply or sensitivity to the needs of Israel (Mt 6:8), Israel was short on faith and understanding....
