What is the proper name for father christmas flowers?

What is the botanical name of the small weed flower with a white head which kids like to pick and blow away? They are most common in spring. I know them as father christmases but i have no idea what the proper name for them is...

The mistletoe, the forests of Northern Europe, is a parasite of the implant on deciduous and evergreen, which produces pale yellow flowers and waxy white berries. Its closest relative in North America has pale yellow flowers and waxy white berries, and is also known as the mistletoe. In particular, it is the official flower of the State of Oklahoma.

Mistletoe name came about two Anglo - Saxon words Mistel which means that the manure and tan which means twig. And yes, quite the mistletoe literally means dung on a twig.Mistletoe concludes that life can spring manure. This plant grows and leeches feed on feces of birds on the branches of trees. Accordingly, mistletoe became a symbol of vitality and fertility.

Christmas and New Year's tradition to kiss shyness and kissing the bronze under a sprig of mistletoe dates back to Britain once. In addition, there was widespread among the Druids who taught the class of the Celts.

The Druids celebrated the beginning of winter (winter solstice), collecting the mistletoe and burning as a sacrifice to their pagan gods.To ensure a year of good faith, peace and family harmony, they hung sprigs of mistletoe around their homes. Evergreen boughs visibly displayed outside their homes welcomed parents, friends, neighbors and the weary travelers and the boom in encouraged to embrace without shame. Feuding parties or enemies who were to meet under the trees that mistletoe contained were required to deposit their arms and settle their disputes.

The Druids believed that mistletoe had healing properties. It has often been prescribed for female infertility and as an antidote against poisons of all kinds.The gathering of mistletoe was a ceremony by the priests highest by blades of gold. Such a rite of recklessness and harvesting the mistletoe is dramatically depicted in Bellinis opera Norma.

The Druids were not the only people who have given so many wonderful attributes for the mistletoe, the Scandinavians, who called mistilteinn; also believed that it was the plant of peace, plant hope and plant harmony. Scandinavian folklore claims that the mistletoe belonged to Frigga, the Scandinavian Star tilt, and embracing and kissing custom is thought to have come from this notion....
