The Modern Kate Kane was first introduced by passing the Penguin about Batman taking her as a date to a function because he heard she was kinda hot. "Kate Kane has been completely revamped from its original character Kathy Kane, although both are beautiful red, whose family inherited hair clean everything Bruce Wayne does not. Kate is then seen with Gotham City police security, Renee Montoya, her former lover, and both have a meeting very explosive.After cutting Renee face of insensitivity on the status of Kate as a member of the lesbian, Kate agrees to find the information to Renee about a warehouse that his family owns. Shortly after their meeting, Kate appears as Batwoman and Renee did not take long to realize his true identity. Batwoman helps Vic (the issue) and Renee in their investigations (humanoid and animalistic Book Intergang crime, for example) and Kate is soon kidnapped by Intergang and stabbed in the chest, apparently being used as a sacrifice.Renee after Kate found out a knife from his own chest to stab Bruno Mannheim, then falls into the arms of the young woman. As she recovers at home, Renee, hidden in her new alter ego of the question, brightens the signal of a bat in his apartment and asked: "Are you ready?" After the events of Final Crisis and Battle for the Cowl where Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson died is the new Batman, Kate becomes the main character. The time has hardened. She, Dick, investigates the Covens of the religion of the crime and shows his knowledge is larger than hers, autoclaving, there are thirteen covens instead of twelve.Batman can retort that it better do something about his long hair, because she was killed in a fight. Little does he know that it is a wig and Kate does not really care what he thinks. Kate Kane is very different from the Silver Age Kathy Kane....
