What is the difference in booking excursions thought Carnival or booking them through the direct company?

Feb 18, 2008 by reese | Posted in Other - Caribbean

Please can someone explain the difference in booking our excursions if our Carnival cruise or to book our trips if the company directly. We are intested in going tubing cave. There is an option to book only through the carnival or go-www.cave tubing.com and booking it. Is it safe to go if a company itself?

I rarely book through the cruise line because you are herded like cattle.

There may be security problems even on cruises, tours online affiliates. Last year, a Carnival excursion in Mo Jamaica has been stolen.

To ensure you do to the ship on time, book early in the day.

And see "ports of call" board on Cruise Critic. Someone has taken the tour you are considering and will be more than happy to tell you.

1. The cost - It is generally cheaper if you book a trip directly with the company rather than as a shore excursion with the cruise line. You are also free to come and go as you please.

A draw back to all the shore excursions on your own is that if you get delayed for some reason the cruise line will not wait for you. The cruise only guarantee to delay the start if one of them there are trips on offer (and approved) is delayed.

The other drawback (especially on some islands) is security. Would you trust your money and life to some unknown driver / guide?

Firstly: BLUNT TRUTH: YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF FOR GIVING SUCH AN IDIOTIC ANSWER. IS THAT YOUR IDEA OF LIGHT-HEARTEDNESS? I BET YOU'RE THE SORT WHO TELL THE LIKES OF ME TO "GO GET A LIFE" AND WONDER WHY WE GET ANNOYED AT SILLY LITTLE GIRLS LIKE YOU.
NOW, as I was going to say before I was so STUPIDLY INTERRUPTED:
Please note that Ladbroke Grove station is closed ALL DAY. Westbourne Park and Royal Oak will be open only for exit from 1pm, Notting Hill Gate - no Circle or Districts stopping there, and Lancaster Gate also closed all day. Bayswater is no closer than Kilburn Park, and why am I doing the work for TfL!!!!!
