Any ideas for a CARNIVAL themed birthday party for a soon to be 3 year old?

Apr 01, 2009 by AmberS | Posted in Toddler & Preschooler

We have a good size backyard so we decided to see our son birthday party was in our yard. We have inflatable bounce house for our own use. Besides that my only other ideas are to have different table set up for games or activities. I have a friend take a picture facing the paintings. Instead of cake I thought to make snow cones. Anyone have more ideas? Keep in mind its for a 3 year old bday party. Thank you!

Games:
Lollipop Tree, Buy a cardboard or Styrofoam cone-shaped. Paint the bottom of several red lollipop and then place them around the cone and let the kids pick one from the tree. If it is red they get a low price.
Duck Pond-Fill a baby pool or a bucket of water. Wright figures on the bottom of several plastic ducks and place in water. The number determines the price.
Bean Bag Toss-Paint a picture of a clown on a cardboard box and cut several holes in the box. Have the children try to throw bean bags through the hole.
Pull-son Take a box of oatmeal vacuum and cut several holes in the box, just big enough for a paper clip to pass through. Attach a number to one end of the clip and a long piece of wire on the other side. Put the clips in the holes so that you can not see the number.

Cuisine:
Hot dogs
Pizza
Popcorn
Nachos & Cheese
Soft Pretzels
Cotton Candy
Corn Dogs
Chips
Soda
Water
Juice boxes

Other activities:
Clown making balloon animals
Making hats clown
Making masks clown

Cat for carnival

This Carnival makeup is a good idea if you want to spend a little money, or if you want to go out of the sexy-whatever costumes, or even for kids ...

Weird is Wonderful

In the street, however, it was like a journey into another world. A world where people had pink, purple, blue or Mohawk hair, wearing leggings stuffed or / and gothic makeup. There were people dressed as fairies, lost cowboys, Harley riders past their prime, the gypsies. The rule of the day was to look as bizarre as possible. I felt like a minority, comes out like a sore thumb because I'm dressed normally. I look so boring! I walked with Alex (from UK) and he said we should get our faces painted or something, anything, to blend in. Here are some photos to give you an idea of how was crazy crazy. There was a good feeling happy, free spirit, however. I suppose these people went to a Woodstock festival if there was one. All looked bizarre, but I felt safe - as in I do not feel as if I had to hide my camera or be very careful of my things - because people were all in how to live and let live. Let everything that had something has been sold - underwear, old photographs, old books, some non-understandable art, paintings, sculptures, lamps, etc.The street was alive because there were people playing drums, singing, belly dancing, walking on stilts and weird looking, not to walk on stilts and weird looking, a man in a suit Bear and a skirt tutu riding a unicycle, kids break dancing ... etc.. Some people in the group thought it was too crazy for them. I agree that it was foolish indeed, and some people really just looked so weird I had a chill in the back just watching their faces and dress. But curiously, there was something nice for him.It is also good to know that "fools" have their own space where they constitute the majority at least once a month as elsewhere in society, they would certainly be a minority. And I suppose if you're so used to order throughout it's always good to experience the disorder (not in the sense of violence).

The last night of our stay, we were taken to the street festival Alberta Alberta Street, which spans the river from downtown. This festival happens on the last Thursday of the month, and it was like a carnival with street art, and there was also home studios that have opened their doors to people watch and buy , art. She was the epitome of cool....
