I write a story, and one of my characters are at the fair with her friends, and I just wanted some ideas on similes to describe the setting.

What do you call & where do you get carnival lights (pic included)?

I am looking to decorate my backyard, i love those lights you see in movies when they are showing carnivals, or county fairs, anyone know where i can buy them or what they are called? I prefer to go in and buy them as opposed to having to order on the internet.
Also, i do NOT want just regular christmas lights, those i can find.
Any info would be helpful, but 10 points for best answer,
by the way, im in San Diego, so if anyone knows where in San Diego, thats even better.

you're looking for string lights. you can find them on clearance right now at target in the lawn & garden section. you can also find them online under that name as well.
i love the look too so i can understand why you like it and don't want the little Christmas lights.
