It's Happening Downtown is proud to announce a new event to welcome the cooler days of autumn to the Historic District of downtown Lake Wales. The first Fall Festival and Doggie Days will be held on Saturday, October 3 from 8 o'clock until 5 o'clock, and does not only include all elements of the usual monthly Antiques, Art & Weird but fun-filled with additional family activities.
Children will want to enjoy carnival games, which include rooms inflatable basketball, ring toss, balloon, golf and makeup.The festival will again be provided by the Kidz Zone, sponsored by Lake Wales First Assembly of ministries to children of God. Children's Pastor Shawn Rudy and his team of teenage volunteers will be on hand to help all the fun. The Kidz Zone is an outreach program that ministers to both youth and adults in the community.
Celebrate harvest time or make a jump on Halloween by visiting the pumpkin painting table where you can demonstrate your own creativity or buy a pumpkin at home and decorate. There will also Hayrides for young and old alike.
Kindergarten premises will be competing in a contest Fall Fest sponsored by Coloring Concepts par excellence. The entries will be exhibited at the event to concepts Quintessential new location in the Arcade Rhodesbilt.
Doggie Days is an excellent time to bring the man (and woman best downtown) friend - dressed for the occasion, if you wish. There will be contests for the cutest and ugliest dog, and one for the most creative costume. The Lake Wales Police Department participate in the festivities with a demonstration of their most accomplished K-9 unit.
And if you're in the market for a new best friend, stop by the Humane Society of mobile Polk County and adopt a puppy at home and love. The Humane Society provides education on animal care, a course in dog training, and information on pet therapy and how to report cases of cruelty to animals....
