why not try explaining how we became independent. Or make it a day to take them to the museum of history. For thanksgiving and Christmas we act out plays about the holiday, so why not on the 4th. If u think hard enough u can come up with alot of stuff and u would be teaching them the meaning of July 4th and maybe about how your family became americans too
