Me and my family are visiting NY for the fourth of July, we have hotel booked there, but i wanted to know what's the best way to travel to the hotel from NJ car or train? Everything we want to see is within a mile of the hotel so what are some tips as far as walking around NY without looking like a tourist and what to watch out for and all that. Thanks!!

Um, well, without knowing where in Jersey you're starting out, and where your hotel is, it's hard to give any advice, really.
Generally speaking, it's better not to drive in NYC, but, you could just drive straight to your hotel and then park your car in the hotel's parking lot and then leave it there the whole time you're in NY until you're ready to drive straight out to go home. You'll be a lot more comfortable in your own car than on a train or a bus, especially with luggage.
Other than that, the link below is to a webpage about how not to look like a tourist in NY and what to watch out for, too, so, have a great time...

When Lindsay and I were in high school, we were not only dorkily impressive, but we embodied our awesomeness brutalized in a book entitled The Book creatively. Somewhere around junior year The book and its relevance stalled and retreated into the house of Lindsay, but its second year of birth until the premature end, he was incredibly entertaining. But unlike some books B Capital in the dramas of high school, this book has nothing to do with our peers, and everything to do with ignoring our existence in high school in El Do and looks forward to Surprisingly the rest of our lives would be.The night before I left to return to England, Lindsay Book unearthed some corner of his room ridiculously organized and brought it to my house because they need so much remembered. He has certainly achieved its goal, because looking back through it, we found a page entitled "A Day in the Life".
The essence of this exercise was to imagine that in an ideal future, a day in our life would be like. I like to think I was a pretty normal teenager, and as such, I had the urge to skip about normal school and go to college. That said, my "Day In The Life" had parked at knee height at the university, having the time of my life, not American, but - where do you know - in England.
Now I will not pretend that I'm psychic or prophetic, but I'm also not going to pretend I did not find the whole thing unbelievable. It sounds cheesy and corny, and other words poorly chosen food used to describe the general banality, but my dream came true almost to a T transatlantic (minus degree in archeology I was apparently expected [???] ).This thought came to me not only as Linda and I leafed through the book, but now, as I walked through the door to my townhouse and opened the door with the keys on my attacker. My life is pretty impressive, and I am incredibly lucky to have it....
