What hotel in New York City has a great view of the july 4th fireworks?

I think planning something nice for my girlfriend this coming July 4th holiday. Since my gf loves fireworks, I was hoping someone could tell me what Hotel New York has a great view of the fireworks?

How to skip the hotel and down to Queens / the Rockaways? I am a resident of Queens .... The sight of Howard Beach is pretty sweet. Plus there's a ton of local stuff happens. And the beach. There's more to NYC than Manhattan, after all.

Rooftop/ great view restaurant to watch July 4th fireworks Los Angeles area?

We're trying to find a nice restaurant with a great view (rooftop, waterfront etc) to watch July 4th fireworks. Anywhere near the LA area would be good. Has anyone been to anywhere with great food and drinks and a view to match for independence day?

Try the Sky Room in Long Beach. You will be directly across the water from where they are shot off which is next to the Queen Mary. It books up fast for the 4th.
It's a very nice old-school place. Back in the day it was one of the first Hiltons and it's where Elizabeth Taylor and Nicky Hilton got married.
After dinner you can go to the rooftop Sky Room Bar to watch the fireworks. They also have a limited menu at the bar.

This is probably one of the best, if not the best videos I've seen come out of the country. It makes you proud, sad and respect all in one video. This is a famous battle happened on the Fourth of July. I did not know at that time, they were both brave mortarmen which is what I was all of my career and I did not know this good and great things PFC Casillas had to date. He actually performed heroically trying to save his comrade and friend. He gave his life to. He deserves the Silver Star they have put in for (posthumously). You'll see in the videos below, both Casillas and Fairbairn work that 120 mortar downrange get as much fire as possible.
