4th of July Cookies?

Jul 03, 2008 by Lindsay | Posted in Cooking & Recipes

Does anyone know a recipe for July 4th theme without using cookie icing? I thought to put blueberries, cranberries and white chocolate inside, but I do not know how.

Nuts, marshmallows, sprinkles and m & m's are good substitutes.

To avoid the icing is a good thing if you want to avoid a mess. Try to add color to your cookies with M & M chocolate bit red and blue!

We are also having cake, cookies, watermelon, strawberry short cake, and cantaloupe. We will watch the parade in our city and see the fireworks!

Burgers on the grill...macaroni salad....corn on the cob.....various munchies.....

And we watch the fireworks from our back porch.

Thank you for the super sweet comments on my hair! Originally I wanted to go with something like Pentecost fabulous, but then I decided to go short (as Pentecost), but with a few more layers!

I went through all the pictures on my camera from last month and boy I'll lose a crumb of Ontario. Just this past Tuesday, we had a get together at my aunt and uncle's house and it was such a good time playing with the fam.

I'm really going to miss here, but I must say that I am looking forward to meeting my new class of children next week. I returned to work Wednesday, but it is a training day so that children returning on Thursday! I talked to some of them in June and July when they discovered they would be in my class but I have not learned to know them very well. There is something about a new group of children - a fresh start so to speak!

Do you know that when I spoke to my class during my speech at the wedding I got really choked and cried a couple? The man was emotional I've ever lol day. The new feature of the distance I have come to these children and how they helped me with the project for our wedding really made me choke up. I'm really an idiot! The wedding favors turned out amazing though. I was so pleased with them.

Angel did a great job! I can tell she really loves her work ... especially for baking cookies as a wedding ... I would be cookied by the end. They taste so good too! I had a ton of compliments on them.

Speaking of Angel, a completely different subject, she wrote a post about his progress half marathon training.

Ummm .... Fully realized I am not registered for the half, I'm supposed to be executed on October 11! Note: With everything going on I put on the back of my mind and have not really given much thought!...
